What’s your best advice to students studying Shakespeare?

Don’t be intimidated by the writing. It’s a bit different to most things we read in everyday life, but the ideas are really simple. If you don’t understand a word then look it up in the dictionary. Over time you’ll know more and more words and the sentences will make more and more sense and soon you’ll fall in love with the amazing stories.

My most embarrassing moment on stage ever was when…

I slipped over during a performance at acting school. The whole class laughed for about 10 minutes.

How are you going to celebrate Shakespeare’s 400th deathiversary?

I’m going to read The Complete Works of Shakespeare by myself in one sitting.

What’s your best advice to a student who wants to  become an actor?

Listen and react. No one says anything for the sake of it. There is a purpose behind everything we say. Its the same with characters, the writer as written the lines for a purpose – find out what that is!

How are you going to celebrate Shakespeare’s 400th deathiversary?
By performing Shakespeare to students across Australia!
